How does a session unwind?
The length of the hair removal session depends on the surface to be treated. The treatment of a specific zone typically lasts from 10 to 90 minutes. The intervals between sessions increase as the treatment progresses. The number of sessions varies depending on both the patient and the zone to be treated.
The zone to be treated must be carefully shaven before the session so that the tip of the hair levels the skin (1 mm long). The hair may have been waxed within the 8 weeks preceding the E-Light session. It is recommended, however, that the patient's pilosity be shown intact to the technician during the preliminary information visit, so that the technician may accurately diagnose the situation and assess the appropriate IPL level to be used.
How does E-light eliminate hair ?
E-light uses optical and electric energy to tackle the hair follicles. It neutralizes the follicles, impeding the growth of new hair. After a few treatments, a progressive and permanent reduction of the pilosity of the treated zone can be observed.
Is the treatment by E-light safe ?
The treatment is inoffensive for the skin. The high technologies combined in E-light make it one of the safest of all depilation apparatuses on the market, and is used for the treatment of all skins types. The optical and electrical energies that E-light combines are also risk-free in the long run: both have been used for decades in medicine, surgery and esthetics without any adverse effects.
What results I can expect ?
Each E-light treatment session reduces the number of hair which will grow back. Moreover, hair regrowth will be increasingly clearer, finer and slower. More than one treatment is required to reach all of the follicules of a zone. The majority of patients obtain satisfactory results within four to eight treatments; these results depend on medical and genetic factors. Clear hair may require more treatments than does dark hair.
Is the treatment painful ?
The treatment causes very little pain. The sensation caused by E-light is often compared to the heat of a pinching or the snapping of a rubber band. This feeling only lasts a split second, although it may be temporarily followed by a sensation of tingling or heat.
What happens after each treatment ?
The skin will display a mild and temporary redness. Certain hairs will fall during the three or four weeks following. The patient may even observe a period without any hair between the treatments.
